The Blue Room partly called doremon room

When you think of spaces for children in your mind, it’s all about fun, colour and safety. This is the design of a children’s hospital in Porbandar city of Gujarat. The design fits the bill of vibrant space that children would be comfortable in. The client wanted to refurbish an old building structure. The brief was to create a paediatric hospital, a facility that supports a therapeutic and supportive environment for children, young people and their families.

When designing a space for the first criteria is that the child should love the feel of the space. This immediately shifts the focus from the Illness and brightens up the mood of the child and the accompanying family members. The design of children’s hospital must facilitate the needs of babies, children, young people and their families. Healthcare facilities must be child cantered and adaptable to each stage of a child’s development and growth. The client did not want a monotonous look to the hospital. Interiors had to be more cheerful, spacious with designs based on child psychology.
