Aastha Children Hospital is a 8 Bed level 3 NICU and 15 Paediatric beds, modern, well-designed, state-of-the-art children’s hospital located in the heart of the Porbandar city at Uganda Road Nr. Railway Station

Doctor Profile
Dr. Yogesh Soni has been serving as the Chief Pediatrician at Astha Children Hospital for 25 years now. He has dedicated all his time to serve patients since he graduated from his M.D. program in 1995 from M.P. Shah Medical College, Jamnagar. Some of his academic achievements include but are not limited to passing MBBS in 1991 standing 4th in Saurashatra University, and acquiring a Postgraduate degree in Pediatric Nutrition from Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Soni has had a very successful private practice for over 25 years now. He has passionately worked day-in and day-out, transforming the field of pediatrics in Porbandar district. He has a special interest in treatment and survival of ‘very low birth weight’ babies. He has saved the lives of thousands of premature VLBW babies over his years of practice, including a 700 g baby In 2012 which was the first to survive in Porbandar district. In 2014, one of his petients was the first baby to be successfully weaned off from a ventilator in Porbandar. Dr. Soni has brought numerous advancements in terms of infrastructure and equipment as well, including the first NICU in the district to start non-invasive ventilation on newborn babies, and the first transcutaneous bilirubinometer for noninvasive measurement of neonatal jaundice. He has performed over 250 exchange transfusions for neonatal jaundice. Dr. Soni continues to improve the critical care and treatment of babies in Porbandar through his practice at Astha Children Hospital.
